i always ask first shoot later, & when it comes to tarik on fight night he would be the last one i would want to pi$$ off (nice guy away from fight nights) but yes argiris if you go ringside to take photo its best to ask or every man & his dog would get the cheapest tickets them come down to the ring all night & have the best seat in the house & then sooner or later he would say no to every one, i know you can taken photos from any were else with out a problem but i was talking about ringside

Hello to everybody from Greece.
I am a new member and I wish you all well.
I am a Zambidis fan. The sad thing is that hardly anyone knows about him in Greece. Fortunately, there is a Greek TV chanel which has just 'discovered' him so this great sportsman has some media exposure in Greece the last 4 days.
I just watched him on a live TV interview (he was speaking over the phone from Australia - he is expected back in Greece on Saturday-, his parents were in the studio live)where he expressed his desire to participate in Athens 2004 Olympic Games in boxing, 69kg category.
There are some bureaucratic problems with the Greek boxing federation. I hope they will sort them out soon so that Greece can get one more gold medal.
This is the geatest honour for an athlete, this is what we believe in Greece anyway!
Also this is going to be great for his reputation as a professional kickboxer, and for kickboxing in general which is not very popular in Greece.

Zambo, as you call him [:)], said that he would love to participate in Olympics but he is not going to beg anybody. He did not sound big-headed, he just said the truth. The boxing federation should considare his desire, and the Greek's, seriously.

I hope you made some sense out of my English, I just wanted to inform Zambo's fans.
Geia sas adelfia ellines......[8D]

Hi Vassilis,
It's great to see that this forum has expanded to Greece as well. Zambidis is well liked in Australia as we have such a big Greek population, it would be fantastic to see him fight for Greece in Boxing. If you have any other news we would all love to hear about it.
Thank you again.

P.S Hey Admin, why don't you make Vassilis a Moderator, he could be our Greek connection…..just a thought.

Tell it like it is.....

I was recently in Greece and found that Zambidis was very popular in Greece if you were into the Martial Arts. He's been on the front cover of many magizines there for example Mavro Zwni and Ring Sports. Zambidis is leaving Melbourne today and i thank him for what he came and did to Gurkan... Zam Is Da Man

Hi Argiris,
I don't doubt Zambos' popularity in the Greek martial arts circle, after all he is the best kilo to kilo kickboxer in the world. What I said in my previous message was that Zambo, although a world champion, hardly anyone knows him in the general greek population, he doesn't get any media attention and this is a shame for such a great athlete and character. I am doing my best to get the Greeks woken up about our 'hidden treasure'. Do you know that even the so called "specialist magazines" like the 'mavri zoni' ("black-belt" in greek)which you mentioned do not even sell any Zambo video tape/DVD?
The only Zambo tapes you can get, is if you pay 80 Euros buy 2 other martial arts tapes and they send you the Zambo tape (with just 1 or 2 fights) for 'free'. Ha what con artists!
